Glove Ports and Covers
Innovative Technology offers both round and oval glove ports in a variety of sizes. Standard port sizes are 6, 8, or 10". Available materials include stainless steel, aluminum, and polypropylene; the material you choose depends on your application. The ports include flanges so you can easily change and connect gloves.
Iris ports are also available. Also called "bare-hand entry ports," these are self-closing silicone ports that allow you to access the interior of the glovebox without long-sleeve gloves. The port material opens when you insert your hands, seals around your arm, and closes when you remove your hand. The iris port thus maintains an excellent seal. Iris ports are useful when you are using delicate instruments that are difficult to manipulate when wearing gloves.
Innovative Technology also offers both internal and external port covers. Internal port covers allow you to easily remove gloves without compromising the atmosphere of the glovebox. They allow you to seal the glovebox and then remove gloves for cleaning or changing. The covers are hinged, so they lie flat on the glove box floor when not in use.
External port covers are an extra safety precaution, providing secondary containment should the gloves leak.
